"Strength for Freedom" - Missouri's Motto

The USS Missouri was an American battleship featured in the game.

This ship can only obtained by a legendary or rare Container or by using real money.

Background History[]

The Missouri was laid down during January 6, 1941 and was launched during January 29, 1944; and was commissioned during June 11, 1944. During World War 2, she was deployed to the Pacific to escort the United States' carrier fleet. She participated in the invasions on Iwo Jima and Okinawa.

After World War 2, she participated during the Korean War; but was later on placed on the US Navy's reserve fleets. She once again saw some acton during the Persian Gulf War.

As of today, the ship now lies at Pearl Harbor; facing the wreck of the USS Arizona as a museum ship.

Overview[]

The Missouri, just like its sisters; inherits high mobility, decent firepower, and powerful AA; but is rather frail. The Missouri proves to be a rather different battleship (along with its sister ships) from the other high tier ones, which seem to follow the same principles of their low tier acquaintances.

Tactics[]

Being the most damaging ship of her class, Missouri can be decked out as a poor mans Yamato/Montana with American flag which allows her to deal 58K damage and is seen more often due to its higher drop rate than the other premium battleships. She also has very powerful secondaries which brings her total damage to ~70K, putting her on par with technically superior ships such as Montana and H41. Her primary downside is her smaller HP pool of 231K. Her AA is decent but wont save you from determined enemies and as such, upgrading her interceptors is highly recommended.

Playing as a Missouri

If you happen to be experienced with the Iowa and New Jersey, the Missouri will be an easy to understand ship. It capitalizes on speed and firepower, and usually shines in a short, fast paced battle. The ship also has an excellent shell dispersion, useful for long range engagements, and has powerful AA useful for repelling air attacks. Its decent secondaries give it an additional layer of defense in case of a close ranged battle, however it is not recommended to engage in one unless when conditions are favorable because it has lower health points.

Playing alongside a Missouri

The Missouri proves to be an effective teammate. Its fast speed means that it can catch up with its allies quickly. The Missouri provides additional firepower and AA support as you bombard the hostile ships. In return, you should eliminate any enemy ships that draw near to your ally Missouri.

Playing against a Missouri

The Missouri, though strong, is not without weaknesses. The ship struggles in a close range battle with the stronger battleships; and because of its tall superstructure, it is a fairly easy to hit target even at the distance. The ship also has difficulty in dealing with destroyers in a surprise attack. But don't be too foolhardy, its guns are powerful and can deal very heavy damage or even eliminate you if you are not careful.

Advantages and Disadvantages[]

Advantages

  • High Mobility.
  • Powerful secondaries
  • High damage per shell.
  • Excellent Anti Aircraft gun damage.

Disadvantages

  • Has a tall superstructure, making it easy to hit even behind hills.
  • High main gun ammunition cost.
  • low health points for a top tier battleship
  • Bad reload time

Trivia[]

  • Japan's formal surrender was signed on board the historic USS Missouri during September 2, 1945.
    • A plaque was installed on the ship's deck to commemorate the conclusion of World War 2.
  • The ship received a total of 11 battle stars before being finally decomissioned in March 31, 1992.
  • The ship was featured in a movie called Battleship (2012).
  • The Missouri is the last battleship completed by the US Navy.
  • A Kamikaze Zero crashed on the ship's starboard side during April 11, 1945; which left a dent that remains to this day.

In game inaccuracies

  • The in game model of the Missouri seems to be a hybrid of its Cold War era and World War 2 era iterations; which, historically, is nonexistent.
  • The Missouri differs from other Iowa Class ships due to her funnel placement. Her funnels seem to be closer and shorter also lacking the black paint on top. In reality all Iowas had same funnel type.
  • There are 2 secondary guns which are RIDICULOUSLY elevated high on the ship's stern. This makes the ship's scale look horrible.
  • The ship has a strange outlined area in the stern. This may be a helipad, though there is no texture on it.
